50 inch scrap of contrasting
yarn
3 inches black hoop and loop
fastener tape (Velcro)
1 Knifty Knitter Loom Hook
1 Broomstick Lace Knitting
Needle
1 size N Crochet hook
1 Large eyed yarn needle
PATTERN
INSTRUCTIONS
HAT
-
Using
the red Knifty Knitter loom and hook with the black bulky Hometown USA yarn, knit on loom until piece measures 7 inches. Fasten
off then cut a 30 inch yarn tail and thread on the yarn needle.
-
Then starting with the first peg run the needle, thru each loop on loom. Pull
each loop off loom and turn hat inside out.
-
Tightly gather loops on the yarn and tie with square knot several
times.
-
Weave in yarn ends.
-
Turn hat right-side out.
SECOND EAR-FLAP
-
Holding hat inside the loom, Skip 5 loops after 1st ear-flap, place 12 loops over pegs.
-
Working
with the same yarn, wrap and knit the 12 loops.
-
Working
in the opposite direction, wrap each of the 12 pegs then knit off.

Repeat
row 3.

Transfer 1st loop onto
2nd peg then lift bottom loop
over the top loop, (This is a decrease) Next transfer 12th loop onto 11th peg then lift bottom loop over the top loop for another decrease. Now you should have a row of 10 loops. Finish this
row by wrapping and knitting off remaining pegs.

Working
in the opposite direction, wrap each of the 10 pegs then knit off.

Decrease the 1st and
last pegs and then wrap and knit row. (8 pegs)

Working
in the opposite direction, wrap each of the 8 pegs then knit off.

Decrease the 1st and
last pegs and then wrap and knit row. (6 pegs)

Working
in the opposite direction, wrap each of the 6 pegs then knit off.

Decrease the 1st and
last pegs and then wrap and knit row. (4 pegs)

Working
in the opposite direction, wrap each of the 4 pegs then knit off.

MOHAWK
-
With Red
and Black Fun Fur Yarn and the N crochet hook, crochet a chain 15 inches long.

Loop last
chain around Broomstick needle.
-
Wrap yarn
around Broomstick needle, Insert hook into center of next chain stitch. Draw yarn through the chain stitch and up onto the
hook. Insert hook into center of same chain stitch. Draw yarn through the chain stitch and up onto the hook. There are now
2 loops on hook. Bring yarn over hook from back to front, and draw it through both loops on hook. One loop remains on the
hook, and you have just made one loop on the Broomstick needle and one single crochet stitch.

*Wrap yarn
around Broomstick needle, Insert hook into center of same chain stitch. Draw yarn through the chain stitch and up onto the
hook. There are now 2 loops on hook. Bring yarn over hook from back to front, and draw it through both loops on hook.* Repeat
directions between the two * * , 3 times.

In the
next chain stitch, *Wrap yarn around Broomstick needle, Insert hook into center of same chain stitch. Draw yarn through the
chain stitch and up onto the hook. There are now 2 loops on hook. Bring yarn over hook from back to front, and draw it through
both loops on hook.* Repeat directions between the two * * , 5 times.

Continue
repeating row 5 thru remainder of chains.

Fasten
off and remove loops from Broomstick needle, trim yarn tails to length of loops.

Along underside
of Mohawk at the thick base of single crochet, whip stitch the Mohawk to the hat along the contrasting basted line.
ATTACHING MOHAWK
-
Thread
contrasting yarn onto yarn needle.
-
Fold
hat in half.
-
Baste
large stitches up and over hat along center
-
With
Black Hometown USA yarn, whip-stitch Mohawk to hat along basting line.

Remove
basting stitches.
FINISHING
-
Weave
in ends.

Sew
