Rnd 1: Work 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook,
join with a sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 2: *Work 1 sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next
st, repeat from * around, join with a sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 3: Work 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next
st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around, join with a sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 4: Work 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next
st, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around, join with a sl st, fasten off and weave in ends.
Rnd 5: Attach yellow thread to any sc
on last rnd, *ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hk, sc in next ch, 2 hdc in next ch, 2 sc in next 2 chs, sl st in next st,
pedal made, repeat from * around, join with a sl st, fasten off and weave in ends.
Stem
With green thread, ch 30
Rnd 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in
next ch, 2 hdc in next ch, sc in next 2 chs, sl st in next ch.
Rnd 2: Ch 20, sl st in 2nd ch from hook,
sc in next ch, 2 hdc in next ch, sc in next 2 chs, sl st in next.
Rnds 3 thru 8: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 9: Ch 30, sl st in 2nd ch from hook,
sc in next ch, 2 hdc in next ch, sc in next 2 chs, sl st in next ch.
Rnds 10 thru 12: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 13: Ch 30, fasten off and weave
in ends.
Finishing
Holding one end of stem firmly, twist
opposite end until stem is twisted tightly. Still holding both ends have someone grasp center of stem while you fold stem
ends to each other. Ungrasp center and stem will twist around itself. Tie long end into slip knot, leaving same length of
stem below leaves as top of stem, trim below knot. Using fingers shape leaves as in picture.

To stiffen bookmarks I prefer to use airplane
glue for wood models. I found this leaves the bookmark with a cardboard like stiffness without changing the crochet thread
texture. To stiffen I just apply a thin even coat of the airplane glue with my finger, allow to dry, turn the book mark over
and apply a coat to this side.
