Size 10 Crochet cotton thread
in color of choice for rose head.
Size 10 Crochet cotton thread in forest
green for leaves.
Size 1 steel crochet hook
20 gauge wire
florist tape
needle nose pliers
thread needle
Birdseed

Rose
Ch 30,
sl st to form ring
Wk 24 rows of sc
Wk 4 rows of hdc
Weave in ends.
Gather sc edge of rose together tightly
with needle and
matching thread

Cut
2 pieces of wire approx. 18 inches long each, fold each in half. Working thru inside of rose poke each end of wire thru bottom
of rose for stem.

Leaves
All
leaves are worked over wire on Rnd 1, as a primary cord as in Irish Crochet.

Bend a small hook in
left end of wire, at * slide hook end snugly to last st worked and with
needle nose pliers crimp hook tightly over crochet,

Trim wire to approx. 4 inches longer then each leaf.

Rnd 1: wk hdc in 1st 7 chs
*, sc in next, sl st in next 3 chs, sc in next 2 chs, ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hk, sl st in remaining
2 chs, working along back, sl st in next 4 sts, sc in each remaining st, sl st over wire and fasten off. Shape
leaves as in picture

Make 1
ch 20
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from
hk, hdc in next, dc in next 15 chs *, 3 dc in last ch, working along back, dc in next 15 sts, hdc in next,
sc in last st, sl st over wire, ch 1
Rnd 2: Sc in 1st st, hdc
in next 5 sts, dc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 6 sts, hdc - ch 3 -sl st - in next st, hdc in next 6 sts, dc in next 6 sts, hdc
in next 5 sts, sc in last st, sl st over wire, ch 1.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st to ch
3 space, wk 3 sc in space, sc in each remaining st, sl st over wire, ch 3.
Rnd 4: Wk ch 3 and sl st
in each st around, sl st over wire, fasten off.
Small Leaves
Make 2
ch 16
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from
hk, dc in next 8 chs, sc in next 5 chs *, 3 sc in last ch, working along back, sc in next 3 sts, dc in
next 10 sts, sc in remaining sts, sl st over wire, ch 1.
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around,
sl st over wire, ch 3.
Rnd 3: Wk ch 3 and sl st
in each st around, sl st over wire, fasten off.
With
florist tape wrap approx. 1 inch of wire below leaf

Wrap florist tape around all 3 wires from just above previously
taped edge to end of wires. Shape as in picture

Holding
wire attached to rose head position 3 leaves around flower. Using floral tape, wrap 3/4's length of wire. Place leaf grouping
against wire and continue wrapping remaining wire,
Fill rose with a small amount of birdseed
and twist tip and tuck inside
to form bud,
